Samantha had always been jealous of her baby brother's attention. Ever since little Tommy was born, their parents doted on him constantly. Samantha, at twelve years old, felt like she'd been replaced as the beloved child.

One day a mysterious package arrived. Inside was a strange device that looked like a miniature satellite dish. With a few adjustments, Samantha discovered it was a shrinking ray. Her mind immediately conjured up a diabolical scheme.

That evening, while Mom was busy in the kitchen and Dad wasn't home yet, Samantha snuck into the nursery. She powered up the shrinking ray and trained it on the crib. ZAP! In an instant, baby Tommy shrunk down to the size of a ladybug. He let out a tiny cry.

"Shh, it's alright little brother," Samantha cooed. She plucked him up, grinning wickedly. "Alone time with Mommy is over. I'll teach you both a lesson you won't forget."

Carrying her miniscule sibling, Samantha crept into the kitchen. Mom was facing the stove, stirring something in a pot, her back to them. Samantha giggled to herself as she spotted Mom's high heeled wooden clogs. Perfect.

"Honey, could you bring me the butter?" Mom called.

"In a second, dear!" Dad replied from the living room.

Mom turned around from the stove - and let out a bloodcurdling scream. "AHHH! There's a bug on the floor!"

She held her foot back, clogs poised to stomp. Samantha peeked out eagerly to see the tiny form of her brother whimpering pathetically. This was it! Justice would be served!

But at the last second, Dad burst into the kitchen. "What's wrong honey? Are you alright?"

Mom gasped and spun to face him, stepping away from the floor in her panic. "I thought I saw a... a bug! But it's gone now."

Dad wrapped her in his arms. "There there, I'm sure it was nothing. Probably just a shadow." He glanced around but saw nothing. "The kitchen's empty, no bugs to be seen."

Mom blew out a shaky breath and managed a smile. "You're right. Silly me, jumping at nothing." She squeezed him and released him. "I'm fine now, you can go relax. Dinner's almost ready."

Dad planted a quick kiss on her cheek. "If you're sure... I'll be in the den." He gave her a loving look and headed back out.

Mom sighed and returned to the stove. She had the pot off the burner and was reaching for the whisk when - SQUISH!

Mom froze. She slowly looked down at her foot. A tiny pink arm and foot stuck out from under her heel. Her eyes widened in horror.

"Oh God, what have I done?!" she gasped, stumbling back and falling into a chair...
